History
The Aucoin family in the Chéticamp region all trace their lineage back to the same source, Martin Aucoin and Marie Gaudet. Of all our families, the Aucoin are by far the most numerous. All the Aucoins of Chéticamp are descended from Pierre, son of Jean Aucoin, son of Martin Aucoin. Pierre Aucoin married Félicité LeBlanc. Their first child, Anselme, became the ancestor of many of the Aucoins of Chéticamp.
